If your company has their own e-mail server, then yes, your boss and / or his IT staff can access your work e-mail. I recommend you check and read your company's Acceptable Use Policy for details on what the company can and will do regarding e-mail accounts. Also keep in mind that some company's have some pretty strong consequences for doing something you aren't supposed to.

It depends. I'm not sure how you are set up. I work for a fortune 100 company and I have to trouble shoot computer problems for customers. I have what is referred to as "root". There have been a few times when I had to access email accounts, but I never had the time or the desire to read people's email. I can barely keep up with my own. But your account can be accessed anytime. Your deleted email is archived so that can be accessed anytime as well.

Now if you are concerned about a personal email account you check online such as Yahoo or Hotmail then that can not be accessed..unless you work for Yahoo or Hotmail. However, if you are accessing your personal email account at work then they do have the ability to see what you see and that data is archived as well. So if you want some privacy I would not ready or send juicy emails while at work. I would only do that from your home pc or laptop. But at the sametime I would not worry too much about it. Your boss probably has bigger things to concern himself with snooping is not a top priority.

Assuming he is using a standard VNC/remote type software and not something more malicious that may offer a key logger (so that he could capture your password) then no he cannot access your email without your password. Also, this is assuming you are talking about a personal email account and not any account that is handled by the company. If the email account is handled by the company chances are he has some method of accessing your company email address regardless of the remoting application. Admins are admins.
