It can be the first time, or the thirtieth time.
It can take up to a year for a couple who has no fertility problems to get pregnant.
After that, they should see a doctor to find out if there are any fertility problems.

A healthy couple can take up to a year to conceive and have that still considered normal. What this means is one couple can get pregnant on the first try, another couple can get pregnant in 4 months, another in 8 months, another can take a year..... and each couple would be considered normal.

Good luck!

The average for a couple is 6-12 months and I think part of the length is due to timing and the other to trying too hard. Remember that working at conception too much can actually make it harder so just have some fun and enjoy the sex. You can get it the first try but I don't know that it's that common. I think the people who get that are either really lucky or are really fertile! lol Best of luck to you and just have fun!

It can take as short as one month if you time it right. If you try for longer than a year and a half you are considered infertile. The best thing for you to do is try to find out when you ovulate so you can have sex on those days and therefor become pregnant. Most woman ovulate on days 12-14 with the first day of your period counting as day one. You can set up a babyzone.com and the ovulation calender will tell you when the best time to try for. good luck.

my husband and I have been actively trying for 12 months. And not trying but not preventing for 8 months before that. So I guess the answer is it varies for each couple. I have a friend who just thinks she wants to get pregnant and does...not everyone is that lucky.

It can certainly happen on the first try, but from what I've heard, that is not the norm. It takes most people a few months. It took us 7 months, and we were "timing" everything from the get-go (tracking ovulation, using predictor kits, etc).

About 25% of couples get pg in the first month. 60% get pg within 6 months, 75% get pg within 9 months, and 80% get pg by one year. 90% get pg by 18months. The average each month is you have about a 20% chance in any given cycle to get pg.
