I remember going on a trip to the Smokies with my family back in the mid 60's, and gas was like 13.9 cents a gallon down there in the hills. Too bad I couldn't have stockpiled a couple million gallons of it at that time so I could resell it today!

When I got my license, My buddies and I would pitch in all our change, and I could drive us all to the beach and back on Saturday and Sunday. That was $2 worth of gas, at about 29cents per gallon, if there was a "GAS WAR" going on (GAS WAR=Competing stations trying to attract business) That was around 1970-71.
So, does 29 cents a gallon sound good right now??? LOL
