I booked a three week vacation in Manila and will be staying at the Manila Peninsula. I've read the reviews on several websites, but I usually don't trust them after hearing from a friend that Hotel firms write in those reviews posing as previous guests.
Is the Peninsula Manila really as good as the hotels and user-reviews claim (if they ARE authentic at all).

Let's put it this way, if you can afford to stay in Manila Peninsula, stay at the Manila Peninsula. My family and I booked a room there during the turn of the millenneum and we didn't regret it. The hotel lobby is usually frequented by politicians and businessmen and if a press conference for a political issue have to be urgently addressed, chances are it will be there. Not so sure if you're easy with that kind of thing.

Also, the lady at customer service is a family friend so if you encounter any problems in your three-week stay just message away. Lastly, don't fail to try their "halo-halo", one of the best in the city.

Yes, difinitely good! My sister had her wedding reception there & so far everthing went great...We also spent a night there...no regrets! You may also want to try Makati Shangri-la...or Renaissance Hotel...Both are in the same area as Manila Peninsula..

Yes, it's a 5 star luxury hotel. This chain also has hotels in NY, Beverly Hills, Hong Kong. Their ads also say that they have just been awarded the Best Business hotel in the Philippines.

Stayed there once. It's OK, but I think Shangri-la Makati is better.
