I live in Los Angeles, and I wanted to know if anyone can give me some helpful infomation.

I just filed for divorce today. I got my papers stamped at the county clerks office etc..etc...

However,,,I DO NOT know where my husband is at. I know his last address but about two weeks ago he moved out due to the fact that he has a 2 warrants out for his arrest.

He is not being very cooperative with me on this and will not even meet someone to be served the papers.

What is my next step? I'm sure I can talk to a paralegal or attorney but it's Friday evening and I just wanted to know if anyone else out there is knowledgeable of this situation.

Thanks!

And let me state the obvious...Yes I know I he's a loser...why do you think I filed for divorce? I'm aware that I can't serve him. The guy avoids me like the plague cuz he's so terrified that I would call the police. I'm patient, I don't need to call cops. The longer he runs the worse off he'll be : ) and he prob won't show up for court anyway even if he's served due to the warrant.

You will have to file a "missing spouse" divorceand post the notice in the newspaper with all the info for a certain amount of days. Thenif he doesnt show in court, the Jude will automatically grant your divorce and award you everything you asked for. Of course you will have the same problem collecting any money owed you but at least you will be divorced. This type of dvorce will usually take a little longer because of the paper time but it will happen. If he does show he will be arrested for any pending charges against him so he probably wont be there. Even though California is a community property state it wont matter here. Good luck

I live in Nevada and going threw a divorce as well. Do you know where he works or lives? If not then the court will require you to do a service by publication you have to file a divorce compliant once you do they give your husband and certain time to contact via the newpaper or being served and if he doesnt it goes in to default and you get awarded everything you wanted. You dont really need an attorney for this I did it my self and only had to pay regular court fees. good luck

First of all you have to make copies of your papers. Then have a FRIEND, co-worker someone else to mail them return receipt requested to the last known address you have. Also take an add out in the paper to run for a week or more to HIM stating that you have filed for divorce and that the papers were sent to his last known address. That way if he CHOOSES not to get the papers or acknowledge them within the time frame he is supposed to you will be granted a default decree of divorce.

all you have 2 due is run an add in two newspapers in 2 surronding counties that you and him are getting a divorce and this makes it public knowledge and any judge will go ahead a precide with the divorce. This is actually the best way cause you will be able to keep everything. But you will have too get an attorney, however this is the cheapest way 2 get divorced.

Well if you can't find him you can't serve him (btw it has to be done by someone other than you). You have a couple of weeks to serve him, they contact your attorney. They can file the correct paper work to move the divorce along without him being served.

Don't worry about it, happens all the time.

Take out an ad in the legal section of the paper in the town he was last known to reside in. Its called service by publication. I hope your going for some mad amount of alimony because this is going to add several months onto the time you are stuck with the loser. Good luck

A freedom or a precise is a state granted permission to do something interior a undeniable means that they later set with proceedings. that's a comedian tale. All of politics is a comedian tale. Telling somebody they're allowed to be unfastened isn't genuine freedom and is even worse being an entire perversion of what a precise or freedom quite is.
