I live in the Los Angeles area. We have two cars, two parking spaces (#'s are on the lease). It does say in the lease that mgmt can rearrange parking with a 7 day notice. I am told state law is 30 days, and state law supercedes. I am completely happy with my spaces, and never wanted to park tandem, as discussed with mgr. before I signed lease (6 months ago).

Yeah, what you discussed with your manager is irrelevant, since it's not in writing. Even if state law is 30 days, what good is the extra 3 weeks going to do? Tandem is not really bad, after you get used to it. If you're really that lazy that you don't want to do it, move out. But I think you're being silly.

Even if you argued and got the 23 extra days, you will still end up with the new parking arrangement soon. The only thing you can do is move at the end of your lease.

You don't have much option. You can ask for the 30 day notice, but the lease says he can do it, so he can. You'd have ot get out of the lease and leave if you don't like it.

I don't know if it is legal, but, it seems they want to make sure that only tenants cars are parked at the complex. Unless you are lacking insurance, registration or a license, there isn't a big deal giving them that info. If you get pulled over, the cop asks for this stuff.

sounds like U should move. the apt. mgr. has the right to make rules, unfortunately. without seeing the parking situation there, it doesn't sound like anything more than a minor inconvenience for them to change the parking arrangement--you can still park your 2 cars.

Ask him to let you out of your lease.
