Well with getting older you get more priveleges. You learn to drive which is amazing. You also unfortunately have a lot of stress. It's really a good time. :-)

I'm 16 and it's pretty much the same. It's not as exciting as you probably think it is...
#1-Junior prom SUCKED. it was incredibly boring for me...because I didn't have a date and sat around like a total loser.
#2-Boys suck too. I know two guys that like me but I don't like either of them and it creeps me out when they talk to me. :( I still can't seem to find a guy that I really like, and right now I've given up hope and I'm just waiting till college cuz all the boys in my school are messed up.
#3-Drinking is not cool. Don't do it.
#4-High school and the workload SUCKS a LOT. I am so busy and tired and stressed all the time that I just want to fall into a deep coma-like sleep and it's making my weight fluctuate.
The ONLY things I can't wait to do is pass my driver's ed and get my permit because my mommy might be getting me a Mustang and go to college!

im also 14 but i guess i'm more "advanced" where i live. prom is a blast because the dress is going to be awesome. it's hard to find the perfect one. my friend couldn't decide on hers forever! boys are complicated and a lot of them are lacking in sense at this age.. ect... being a teenager is hard. you might be older and say that these were the best years of your life but when you're a teenager, you go threw becoming an adult and then you start to come across the questions "who am i?" and "what am i going to do with my life?". that's the difficult part.

It's can be difficult sometimes being a teenager. at this stage most teenagers want to be accepted by people and feel like they are adults, because they are given more space by their parents. this is the period where you start focusing more on your clothes and appearance; it's almost like playing your role as an actress, you know: you had to wear the last fashion outfits and put on makeup and pretend you are tough. But once you get home, you are a different person. to your parents you look like the sweet girl.
but whatever you do, don't drive your parents crazy.

Try reading magazines - Seventeen, Teen Vogue, etc.. and looking at the media for what people think "teenage" life should be. It does not always "suck" to be a teen, it gives you time to express yourself and try to discover who you are as a person. The next few years are going to be crazy, sometimes boring and will lead you to an endless journey. Driving, high school, and then learning to be even more responsible. There are many things to know about living in your teens, but the most important thing is to follow your heart and have fun. Enjoy!!!

It's over-rated, especially prom. The real joy of life is independence and satisfaction in your life through accomplishing your goals. Getting your dream career and or family. Don't worry though, your teens are a time to have fun and make memories. Do well in school, graduate, go to college, and you will always look fondly on those fleeting awkward years.

I have some fond teen-age memories but it was mostly awkward, embarrassing, humiliation stuff like standing up in front of the class to read your homework assignment with a big ol' *****... dealing with a lot of adult emotions and not knowing how yet... being a jerk... feeling angry and stupid alot... wallowing in self pity... over-dramatizing all my trials and tribulations in my life... driving my parents insane, and all while trying to get an education. I can't say that I miss it much.

It's different for each person. It's really how you want to live your life and what you make of it. Personally I had fun times, but I was also very depressed...I did a lot of stuff that I regreted, but I also loved the feeling of having no major responsibilites.
