I was in a relationship for 3 years before we got married, we were married for 12 years and everyone thought we were newlyweds! We held hands and kissed in Walmart, We told each other how much we loved each other daily. It is a good thing we did. Because, he was on a business trip. We professed our love to each other and the next morning he was dead! Our love would have lasted til the end of time! For me it will it has been five years since he died.

I was in a relationship for 31/2 years before he proposed, currently we have been together for almost 10 years. It will last if the love is strong enough:)

I was with my ex husband since I was 16 years old, we married at 19, and divorced at 26. We were together a long time, and as you can see from the first line, it did not last.

So far it is lasting. We met online and chatted for 5 months. Dated for five months. Moved in together for a year and a half, got engaged for a year and 4 months. So I'd put that at almost three years of dating, plus some online stuff.

My husband and I knew each other for a total of 6 weeks before we got married and have been together a total of 8 years now. I wouldn't advise it for everyone, but the circumstances were a little different for us. We had both been married before and we were both a little older - I was 29 and he was 33 when we got married.

Meet in April, Engaged in August and Married in December all of 1 year and been very happily married for over 5 years. Time you need to be together changes from person to person. Just have to know yourself and your partner and be willing to do what it takes to make each other happy.

21 months for first and second marriage, neither lasted. I do believe that if mature people (at least late twenties) have not decided they want to be with each other for the rest of their lives in 12 months (engaged) then I would question if they are right for each other. 'Just my opinion.

Dated 5 years. Married 5 years. Hard to say if it will last...even dating that long, I still didn't know him and learned he was not so great after we were married. Just goes to show you should listen to your gut. Mine told me something was not quite right, but he seemed so wonderful and we had such a history together by that time.
