No. People were utterly stunned when I told them that the first time I ever heard the song "A Moment Like This" was about four months after Kelly won A.I. Now, they're stunned that I have no idea who this season's contestants are, save for Sanjaya ... although, honestly, I think even people who don't own a television know who he is.
A final thought. I had a chance to look at the A.I. Happy Meal, where the kids get the toy microphone and it talks on the box about the show. At one point, it talks about (and I can just picture some shill for A.I. writing this with the voice of Mr. Rogers in his head) the contestants have no control over their clothes, hair (someone please explain Sanjaya, then?), makeup, etc ... "but the contestants pick their own song, that's an *individual* decision!"
Should they really be patting ourselves on the back for how much individuality they let each contestant retain?

OH MY GOSH!!! I completely agree! i rather don't have any pastime what so ever contained in the teach. each body will come to college and communicate about it, yet Who supplies a care? i rather do not look after the teach to be well mannered. no longer protecting that the teach is lifeless rotting undesirable, yet i do not imagine it truly is nice that individuals are keen to flow and humiliate themselves in the front of tens of millions of visitors. it form of sounds like kin might want to have instructed them they could no longer sing. It also feels like this adventure, in the adventure that they did not make it , might want to easily completely make all self-worth disappear. I dunno, although the unhappy area by all of that's that u.s. likes to snigger at someone who has a dream, no matter if or not they don't fulfill it. I by no potential watch it, and could for the first time at the same time as Bono is on there. yet that's it! i'm an rather massive fan of U2, so i imagine i will stand one episode. possibly no longer. i will rather attempt my toughest.

maybe the first season I watched it now and again but I don't tune in and can't stand to hear the radio stations talking all the buzz after it's been on. Who got sent home what assinine thing did Simon say. Paula, etc,etc...I'd rather watch "Charm School" or "Celbrity Fit Club" to be totally honest with you.How sad is that?!

All of the finalists in that show have talents,(some of the) in their own rights.... there's no doubt about it. Unfortunately, it is nothing but a free pass and it is not fair. It also sends out a message which tells our kids that education is not necessarily needed in order to be successful in life.

I haven't watched it at all this season. Not one minute. I barely know who/what Sanjaya is. I once watched it so rabidly that we voted the maximum amount every night, and went to the concert that summer of the top 10. I think it's on the way out.
