I don't like what the Immigration folks did in 1951, allowing the Mexicans to cross, then arresting them and making them work for the Texas Employment Commission. It sounds like a good idea, but corruption always plays into these things. Over the period of 1944 to 1954, the "decade of the wet.back" the number of illegals coming over increased 6000 percent!
Incarcerating many of the illegals of any race here now should solve the "Americans don't want to do those jobs" arguments. There is no room in the prisons, but you could just set up work camps and put the prisoners to work while they are awaiting deportation or conviction for their crimes, and while serving their sentences. That would be one way to remove the financial incentive to come here, and we could take advantage of them again for a change. The biggest problem is how to identify the undocumented aliens without violating the rights of American citizens, specifically those of Mexican origin. That would be wrong, if they followed the process they should be treated as any other citizen of these United States. Law enforcement and the medical community could determine the legal status of most of them. Unfortunately many communities have sanctuary policies that prevent officers from taking action. Denver and Boulder in Colorado are two embarrassing examples. So I say yes, something has to be done to save America. Tell your elected officials to say no to Mexican trucking companies north of the border. We don't need another terrorist attack on our soil! We don't need American blood on the highways due to unsafe foreign trucks!
