The only way you can know for sure is to go to your family physician, ER, or nearest orthopedic practice. You should have an x-ray performed. It could be a fracture, a sprain, or pulled ligaments. If it is broken it will more than likely be placed in a cast. If it is a sprain or pulled ligaments you could be placed in a wrist splint. Also you did not mention anything about swelling. If it is swollen apply ice to decrease the swelling and hold your arm from the elbow up to decrease the swelling. Letting the arm dangle downward will cause more swelling if you do have swelling at the site of injury. Again, the only way to know for sure is to have an x-ray performed. Good luck to you and I hope you feel better soon.

There is a possibility that it's a fracture. If you think there may be a chance that it is broken, you should call your doctor and make an appointment, just to be sure.

Good luck and please feel better soon!
