Your speakers won't work if the audio drivers aren't installed.
In XP click start then control panel then double click system and then go to hardware and then device manager. Check to see if there are any yellow exclamation points under sound devices/unknown hardware. If there are, your drivers are not installed.

There is no such thing as a trojan worm.

Are your speakers ACTIVE or PASSIVE?

If they are active then they will have a power supply and a power button on the right hand speaker. You need to plug the input plug into the output socket on your sound card at the back of the PC.

If they are passive then you just plug them into a the input socket on your sound card at the back of your PC.

Plug your speakers to the Line Out or Digital Out or Speaker out in your soundcard and run it's drivers from a cd if it came with one.
