Hi. I think you might enjoy my mystery series, set in the Florida Panhandle. It features amateur sleuth Frank Cole, a bankrupt software designer re-starting his life in the town of Exile, Florida. Working as a fact-checker for local insurance companies, he is asked to review a hit-and-run fatality which he originally believes was just an accident. Unfortunately, someone leaves him a threatening message on his kitchen table one night, and he is forced to figure out what happened. The book is called "Murder in Exile" and it was released by St. Martin's Press in 2006. The sequel, "Reduced Circumstances", will be released in July of this year. To read a sample chapter of each of these, please go to my website www.vincenthoneil.com. I hope you enjoy your time in Exile.

If you're into fantasy and don't mind reading outside a "teen" level, I have a few suggestions.

Dragonlance series (Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman are the main authors), if you're into medieval settings, magic, dragons, and swordfights. Romance is present, but not a big part of them.

Harry Potter (J. K. Rowling) if you haven't read it yet. I'm betting you're familliar with what it's about.

Equal Rites, The Color of Magic, Small Gods (Terry Pratchett) very funny, easy to read, and I know he has some books in the teen section. They all take place in the same "world," and all his books rather intertwine. Basically, if you enjoy one, and you're reading another, you'll probably see characters you loved from the first one you read.

various horror books by Dean Koontz and R.L. Stine. Koontz is a bit more adult, so more graphic, but I was always amused by Stine, even though they struck me as kinda childish. Might be more your type.

I suggest not reading Steven King. It's not that he's scary, he's just very vulgar, and has unnecessary sexuality in his books. Basically, stuff your parents probably wouldn't want you to read.

And for some old favorites, "Little Women", "Little House on the Prarie", and "Incident at Hawk's Hill." Hope you try and enjoy one of my suggestions.

Try "The Sisterhood of Traveling Pants" series by Ann Bradshares. Jack London write books you can think about after wards, "Sea Wolf" is one of those. If you want some action Anthony Horowitz is fantastic, me and my sister got hooked on his writing. Harry Potter is the only fantasy series that *doesn't* get on my nerves. Even though you know what you like try exploring beyond that, expand you interest levels. To do this Read classic books written in the early 1900s and back. "The Secret Garden", "A Little Princess", "Pride and Prejudice", and definitely the "Anne of Green Gables" series.

Hope this helps.

Hi
When I was a teenager, I really got into the Agatha Christie series... Hercule Poirot is the main detective, but there was also a couple novels with Miss Maple, an old lady with great deduction powers. You can start with "And then there were none"... that one is soooo good you'll never guess the end!
I also loved mangas (japanese comic books), like Hunter vs hunter, Naruto, Conan the detective...

Have fun! Reading rocks!

the following series are a very good read, I'm in my teens to (9th grade)

*Harry Potter (of course...)
*Pendragon Books By D.J. MacHale*****
*The Farsala Trilogy
*The Artemis Fowl Books by Eoin Colfer*****
*The Wheel of Time Seriies by Robert Jordan*****
*The Dragonlance Series By Margret Weis, Tracy Hickan, Douglas Niles (main authors)*****

***** = a really, really, good series, you should start from book 1 though because you'll get lost if you pick up from the middle. The Dragonlance series is an exception, so many different books, no real starting point, althought the "Soulforge" is a good one because it introduces you to all of the series main characters.
