This is my prom dress- http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod38390090&parentId=cat000078&masterId=cat000076&index=1&cmCat=cat000000cat000001cat000009cat000071cat000076cat000078
It's sophisticated but not over-the-top formal, and I want my shoes to reflect that as well. I've never worn a short dress to a formal event before, so I'm excited that people will be able to see my shoes for once. :) What color should I get, though? Gold would go with the yellow, while a metallic pewter would go with the streaks (you can't really see it in the picture, but there is one substantially dark/thick streak, the rests are light little wisps of color)...but would either of these be too "matchy-matchy?" Let me know which is better, or if you have any other colors in mind. Thank you!

Silver really brings yellow out. yellow on yellow is too much yellow.

Don't do yellow, it's too matchy. Match your shoes to the pewter streaks. Something in a peep toe would be very sophisticated, but not super formal, or something strappy. I suggest something simple, but eye catchingly elegant. You want to look completely put together. Your clutch (if you have one) would look great if it had one color that was similar to your shoes so it pulls together.
These are cute:

wow your taste is really right on a very nice dress , what I'd have my girl do is add a black pendent like a flower or a black panther in the bow something not to big and not to small and then you could wear some black pewters and that I think would look pretty . but its your prom dress what ever you decide I'm sure it'll look great . concentrate on having a good time .

the pewter would go well.. im not a big gold fan, hate the color and dont care for them with the dress.. some nice black shoes would go well also, a peek a boo toe would look really classy too.. good luck and have fun!!

Check the site where you got the pic of your dress. There is a really pretty pair of Donna Karan Slingbacks that look like they would be perfect for the dress.

Not yellow, shoes should complement the non prominent color. Yellow would just be too much. so grey/ dull sliver!

no flip flops please, I think yellow, green with a green clutch, red with a red clutch, colorful with yellow in it. silver, gold, no black make sure you get a clutch to match your shoes.
