Someone once told me that when submerged in water, your vagina closes up to keep the water out. So,I tested the theory and it seemed to work. I swam and didn't see a red cloud in the water by me. It may also help if you wear a dark colored suit to hide any stains that could happen if you get out of the water and bleed a little. As long as you stay in the water you should be fine.

Wear tampons. It really is your only option.
If your mom doesn't like it just ask the nurse at the camp for some. Whatever you do though, don't wear a pad in the lining of your bathing suit.... It really is noticeable, and also it is not very sanitary.

Tell your mom to wake up and smell the year 2007! Tampons are your only option, or you can't get in the pool. ( I guess you could and get a wet pad.)
