I asked this question in three places (singles and dating, women's studies., and the marriage/divorce category) Why do suppose there was no interest to this question in the marriage/divorce domain and high interest in the other 2?

"Which sincere compliment do women like to hear most from men? State you age and then list the top 2-3 sincere compliments you prefer to hear. By the way, does age matter in what types of compliments are welcome?"

From my husband - I love it when he loves what I cook. Right now he is in The Netherlands so we are apart and he says he misses my cooking...especially me being Italian and then getting the Dutch dishes right....then - when he bends himself at the knees to kiss me and hold me....he is REALLY tall and I am well a bit shorter....I take that as a compliment that he willing to bend like to for a kiss...oh and when he will come up behind me just to smell my hair....I can feel his breath through my hair...I love that..40 by the way

I'm 46.

The compliments I like to hear the best are
You look nice today
Thank you, you're very kind or I appreciate what you do.

I prefer compliments that don't have sexual undertones. I don't like feeling that I have to look/act sexy to get a man's attention. I want to feel noticed and appreciated for who I am, not so much what I look like.

I don't think age has much to do with what compliments we like to hear. I could be wrong, but it's my opinion.

Maybe if you said, "male friends" or "your husband" or "men you don't know" or something, you'd get a response. People would know which men you mean. After all, there are some compliments I might like from my husband that would be rude or weird coming from anybody else.

Still, my favourite compliment from anybody is being told I'm smart.

I'm 27 and I've been married for 4 years.

#1 When I walk in the room and he looks slightly startled and just stares and says, "Wow, you are just hot!"

#2 When he's between my legs and between licks he tells me that I smell and taste great!

#3 When he thanks me for all that I do for him while holding me in a tender sincere hug/embrace

#4 When he tells me that I'm the best Mom to our girl

It's simple really, just reassure your lady that she has no reason to be insecure about the things she's insecure about! That's what a compliment is all about in my book!

I am 23 and I love to hear from my husband
1. That I am beautiful no matter what.
2. I changed his life for the best when he met me.
3. How he loves my smile and it brightens up the room.

Whatever the age, every women loves to hear, "You're beautiful." Compliments about her style, intelligence and sense of humor rate high, also.

I'm 24, married 3 years. My favorite compliments are the believable ones. "You are the most beautiful woman in the world!" is not believable. I like when my husband tells me "You smell like wife, like home." That one always makes me smile.

40...You have beautiful eyes...I thought about you today....

Really, anything that someone whom I care about says from the heart touches mine. We women always know if you mean it.

I'm divorced but in a serious relationship with a man of few words, which is sometimes frustrating but also makes what he does say that much more meaningful.

For example, one day I was waring jeans and a top, and he said that I looked nice that day...

I've been that woman and I've been the one cheated on by a cheating husband, so I can address this from both ends. On what basis would you sue, and why not the spouse also?
