I just bought a 160GB Western Digital MyBook hard drive. It says on that box that it is supposed to be plug-and-play but apparenly I can't play when it's plugged in. It doesn't appear under my computer. The drive it self seems to be working fine since the indicator LED on it is on and I can hear it running. However, when I attach the USB cable to the computer, it says that windows could not recognize the USB device. Any ideas on what I should do ?

P.S. I am running Windows XP.

Hi. I just installed a 250GB MyBook last week and it worked fine. Try leaving it hooked up to a USB 2.0 port and reboot.

Try reinstalling the USB port drivers, or updating them..

Hope this helps & good luck,
