Boromir is my favorite because of his conflicted desire to seize the Ring to save his people, but his other desire to see the quest to succeed. While he tries to seize the Ring, he realizes his mistake and sacrifices himself trying to save Merry and Pippin.

My least favorite is Tom Bombadil. I never understood why so much time was spent on a character of so little importance to the entire story.

My favorite's are...
Frodo- how can you not love him the way he has to fight for self-control and has to save all of middle earth
Bilbo- I know he isn't actually in the Lord of The Rings that much except at the end when they sail off and a few other times but I still loved him from The Hobbit.
Legolas- He's an elf and elfs are amazing! Also, he can shoot a bow like no other.

My least favorite characters are...
Steward of Gondor Denethor II- He commits suicide and tries to kill Faramir that part of Return of the King made me really anxious cause I just wanted someone to stop him and I liked Faramir so I was glad he lived.
Boromir- I just didn't like the fact that he tried to take the Ring from Frodo, I wasn't all that upset that he died, I must say

I just realized that both of my least favorite characters were dead by the end

My favorite character from the books is Gandalf. He is wise, all knowing, able to survive the Balrog, and he helps to keep Sauron from killing everyone and from getting "the one ring."

My least favorite character in the books is the Steward of Gondor (aka. Boromir's father). He selfish and does not want Aragorn to become king. Not only is he like that, but he also treats Faramir like dirt. Faramir just wants his father to love and respect him, but his father is ungrateful and incapable.

Gollum was always my favorite, I found him to be funny the way he always talked to himself and mumbled! :p

Tom Bombadil was my least favorite, because I for some reason, I always had the hardest time with that Chapter, even when I read the books as an adult, for some reason those chapters just escape me.

Hi Lucy,

I'm Ugluk an Uruk-hai of the White Hand. As one of the soldiers of Isengard I have to say Saruman. He is my boss.

Now, if you met me outside Rohan, I would say my favorite character is......mmmmm....The Witch King of Angmar! Why, because he is Lord of the Nazgul. They have a great 401k package, full medical, full dental, 6 weeks paid vacation, free housing, and awesome creatures to fly.

Here is his history...

Oh, my least favorite is Denethor, the Steward of Gondor...he is messed up!

Aragorn and Sam are my favorites. Aragorn is the brave, heroic man who saves Gondor from ruin, and Sam is such a loyal friend.

My least favorite would probably be Grima. He reminds me of a nasty kid I used to know.

My favorite would have to be Samwise, hands down! His love for his friends is like a child to his Mother.

My least favorite would have to be Sauroman. I can't stand two-faced poeple

Tom Bombadil.. (wow, I'm the ONLY one?) ... He pretty much knew what was going on from the start and decided he wanted no part of it.. or very little part of it.. He was sort of the neutral ground between the opposing sides..
