Make sure that opening it so soon doesn't make your wife mad. A happy wife and champagne is so much better. You can have your cake and eat it too.

Once the door is closed.....you are good to go.

I take that back....if the kitchen is in the back of the house and you hear the front door open....reach for the bottle.

I would wait until she actually takes off. What if her flight gets canceled and she has to come back? It would be a waste of champagne.....good luck!
