My mother in law just left to the airport. Is it too soon to open the bottle of champagne in the fridge???

You had better wait until the plane is wheels up and away! Sometimes there are problems at the airport, you may not be homefree yet!
You don't want to share the bubbly just in case she comes back!

I would wait until she actually takes off. What if her flight gets canceled and she has to come back? It would be a waste of champagne.....good luck!
