Pitchers bat in the National League. In interleague games at the NATIONAL league home park, they use national league rules, which means that the both pitchers bat. At American league parks, they use american league rules, which means that both teams use a DH

Easy, because the cubs are a national league team, and the American league teams use a DH ONLY which allows the pitcher not to hit in American ball parks so in national league parks they do not use the DH, they could only if the home team agrees to it so that is why buerhle had to bat

The game was being played in a National League park. All National League pitchers bat all of the time. You must have been watching only American League teams.

Because the National League doen't have a DH Rule, in which a batter hits for a pitcher. Therefore, the pitchers hit when a NL team is at their home stadium.

Because the NL doesn't have designated hitters...In other words, the pitchers on the Cubs bat too...and in the case of NL vs. AL, if the NL team is home, the pitchers on the visiting AL team bat too...

Because the game was at Wrigley, and is a home game for the Cubs (the National League team). In interleague play, the rules of the home team's league are followed.

plenty somewhat watch a Cubs or White Sox sport. reason i haven't been to the two of the those fields and baseball is plenty extra constructive than harry potter. I mean the ambience is in basic terms superb getting a number of your buds going to a sport chowing down on nutrition and beer and taking section in the solar. Thats what its approximately. no longer sitting in a dismal action picture coach gazing a gay myth action picture.

because one is american and the other is national league... cubs were the home team .. therefore you play by national league rules .... and in national league the pitchers hit, in the american league they use the designated hitter instead of the pitcher..
