I'm 17 and have a facebook (like practically everyone else at my high school), and have made it quite clear (on facebook) that I'm bi (though i prefer women). I have told my friends and I'll tell anyone who asks or I'll bring it up when it's relevant to the topic at hand. In that, I don't stand up in the middle of my classes and announce it for no reason. I don't believe that I should make my sexuality known to the whole world for no reason whatsoever.
That being said, I still get hit on by guys--even when I tell them I like girls--both inside and outside of school. Sure, it's nice and a great ego-boost for me (I'm slightly self-conscious, but working on it), but I would greatly prefer it if women would notice me, y'know?
I know this sounds extremely self-centered and all, but what I'm trying to get at is how can I appear more...women-friendly, I guess, without losing who I am. I'm not butch. I'm me. I suppose I identify more with femmes, but whatever. I sort of...blend in, y'know?

I'm not old enough to frequent gay bars, and I honestly can't tell who's gay and who's not--especially concerning women (both at my school and not). I know I'm always going to be thought of as straight, but how can I also be seen as approachable to women?

I saw that your said you tell people you're bisexual. That tells guys that you're interested in guys as well as girls. If you're really only interested in members of the same sex, then tell people you're a lesbian, not bisexual.

As a female, there's nothing you can ever, ever do to make guys stop hitting on you. Sorry dear, just smile and be happy knowing that some of us would kill to have that magnetic man-drawing ability. One more thing though...Why are you claiming bisexual? If men approaching you really bothers you that much, you want to make it more obvious that have a preference for women...Why can't you just say that you're lesbian? If you're bisexual then being hit on by guys shouldn't be a big deal for you. If you claim lesbian you obviously will have an easier time hooking up with women, which sounds like that's the only thing you're interested in.

Yeah, you're pretty much being self-centered here. People get hit on by people regardless to whether they aren't their sexual orientation/preferred religion/preferred race, etc...
What can YOU do? Beyond being a total ball-busting-sign-wearing-butch I seriously think you should ignore it/not worry about it. Is this really such a big deal?
p.s. If your main beef is that you want WOMEN to notice you - Methinks you need to be a bit more aggressive yourself. It's a two-way street of finding a girl you like and how about YOU hit on THEM.
And who knows - Maybe they'll be the next poster on Yahoo Answers saying that they always get hit on by lesbians.

first of all, why the guys are hitting on you even with the knowledge that ur bi... well.... they find u relatable [ ur guy side] as well as interesting...... they think ur unique probobly because they haven't seen a bi b4 or sumthin like that...lol
secondly, how to be more attractive to women.... well.. the thing is
most female goes thru the gay phase... u know wat i mean...
and their pretty insercure about that......
basically, women do notice you... they just hide it.... inside they are curious as hell...
i suggest u try to find a partner [female] that is gay or bi
once u have a partner...... 4some reason women will start noticing you more...mayb because u look happy
give it a try!!!!
p.s ur a girl right... so ask ur self wat does it take for a girl to notice someone

hoped i helped u

People do that to me too. I get hit on by guys but not often by girls, and I like girls more.
Somehow, I am blessed with the gift of excellent gaydar, so I do most of the flirting and hitting on. It works, though I would like it more if girls would hit on me sometimes, but lots of girls are used to being approached rather than doing the approaching.
So, I'm in the same boat as you but really don't know how to remedy it. Best wishes, my friend.

I agree with Christi. If you're more interested in attracting girls you need to tell people you're a lesbian. If you tell most straight guys you're into guys and girls they'll see that as an opportunity to watch two lesbians 'getting their freak on' in person.

Well, that's what you get for calling yourself bi. Guys hit on girls enough when the girls say they're straight, but if your BI.... You may as well be lathering yourself up in barbecue sauce on that cannibal island Capt. Jack Sparrow got stuck on.
If you're bi, you ARE straight just as much as you are gay.

Well, AFTER you are out of high school, you can start wearing a shirt saying, "I prefer women". (A lot of schools don't like kids to wear things with words on them.)

I get hit on by women quite a bit.
I almost always say "Thanks, but
I'm gay. If you have a gay brother
or friend as nice as you, maybe you
could introduce him to me."
Most of the time they realize that
I'm not lying and accept me for who
I am.
Good luck!
