A behavior deviating from what is usual or common or to be expected; often somewhat odd or strange behavior.
Problem: Defining "common," "expected," "odd," or "strange." In one respect, all behavior is atypical because any behavior can be considered "strange" or "not common" by any one observer. Also, a behavior may be expected of a certain person but it doesn't have to be common.
From that perspective, atypical behavior can be defined but not necessarily identified except within a specific context and based on the observer's perceptions.

A-typical means that you're asking because psychology probably ISN'T "your thing."
For the record, atypical means not according to whoever is making up the rules. To a christian, atheism is atypical... to an atheist, vice-versa. Polygamy is atypical to a monogamist (and vice-versa); It doesn't mean "abnormal"... it just means that your not flying on somebody else's radar.

angry...controlling...demanding
.....maybe abusive -- either verbally and/or physically.....driven.....ambitious......wants status and success in their profession, acclaim...inwardly insecure...
....maybe obsessive compulsive in one or more areas of their life.....usually male....possibly the kind to snap....and go on a rampage against innocent people....at work........or will end up with a heart attack and/or stroke......if stress is not dealt with...
jose menendez - father of lyle and erik - pretty much fit this profile....he was definitely the father from hell, so to speak....
and also I would say survivalist -- gun nut types - could also fall into this pattern...
You're talking about an A-TYPE personality....right....????
That is how I perceived your question....
If it's 'atypical', that could be something else entirely.....

Isn't that what minorities do? Typical is what most people would do, so you must be a minority to do anything else.
