We have installed a sauna in our home and my 13 year old s
on wanted me to join him. When I did he did get an erection after a while. I pretended not to see it because I did not want to embarras him.
Is it possible that a boy can get excited from seeing his mother naked ?

Sure, and he did, for a short while. Once it's no longer new it won't happen and will seem natural for him. It's good not to be ashamed of naked bodies.

I can see that you obviously see nothing wrong with it. It has always been expected that kids should respect their parents at all times. As a mother, you should have morals regarding ANY of your children seeing you naked at an age where they can comprehend that you are naked. Many answers above have explained a variety of consequences that can arise from a situation like this and believe me, the loss of privacy in adults and kids is causing major corruption across the globe! Some people will argue that there is a need for 'open-mindedness' whilst others will say there is a need for more self-discipline and self-respect. I would go with the latter. You are the mother from whom a kid will learn what is right and what is wrong. Don't ruin your child's innocence.

Well might some out there really can't stand for a mother and her son being naked together.But it is a very personality choice for all of us.First in the mind,just don't consider naked body as a porn or sexual thing in mind.Naked can be very healthty and natural.As a mother,U should give a guide to your son while seeing the naked body of a diffrent sex.Naked body did't dirty as we all think in mind.A boy get erection might coz by the tempature or something else.U should have a sex talk with him.It for his own good in the future.

Looking to your questions it seems that this aspect of "nude mom" is very important for you...but apart that I would like to answer seriously according to my experience.
I'm divorced and I live with my son (now 16). Considering the lack of father presence, I always tried to have a strict relationship with my son and care for his education.
This includes also sexual aspects (here in Europe is more common and easier respect to US...). When some years ago I realised he was spying on me, instead of blaming him, I started a frank discussion with him about all aspect of nakedness, sex and ...privacy.
In fact, as someone said, people always want to turn nudity into sex but I do not agree with this concept. Instead, I think (and explained this to my son) that, without malice, being sometime nude in private places (e.g. at home) is not a "terrible sin" but just one of the many statuses of our life.
This discussion helped a lot our current relationship and behaviour. And sometimes, living together, it happened and happens to see each other in the nude or with few clothes on top.
One of the questions that we have discussed was the problem of embarrassing erections in "not appropriate moments and places". The starting point of this discussion was its "strange" reaction on a French beach full of topless ladies. He was very embarrassed about that.
I told him that this is normal reaction for a boy and now he's perfectly able to distinguish between "erotic dreams" and nudity and these erections are not an issue any longer for him.
So, to answer the question: yes, boys can be excited from naked mom (and other ladies) but only if there are not used seeing her nude or if this is considered a sinful situation from both sides.

To be naked in the same room as a thirteen year old boy is wrong! He is just beginning puberty and just like any other male is aroused by the sight of a female body, it likely had nothing to do with that fact your his mother just that you were naked. This is not healthy behaviour between mother and son and I would encourage you to stop before someone gets the wrong idea and reports you!

It is possible, particularly if he is not used to seeing his mother nude. Erections are perfectly normal reactions to external stimuli and brain conditioning.
With time and experience around nudity, he'll soon learn that this is not really an erotic experience, and the erection won't be an issue any longer.

Wow, first of all your not good at making up stories.
Second of all, if this is true, which it probably is not, you should not get in the sauna with your pubescent son naked ESPECIALLY if you KNOW he is getting erections. I don't see why you can't both wear bathing suits?
EMBARASS him?
I don't think he gets embarassed easily if he goes in the sauna naked with his mom and gets an erection without covering himself up.
