They were sued by the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF), and were forced to relinquish the rights to the name.
I think its bogus, who on earth can't tell the difference between a panda bear and a wrestler?

The WWF changed their name to the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) due to the World Wildlife Fund which placed a lawsuit on them to change the logo (WWF) because it matched theirs. Some copywrited bs they claimed.
