who is the better batsman between these two?

Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara
In my personal opinion i would rate Lara better between the two because Lara can adapt to any playing conditions quickly and can score very freely as oppose to Tendulkar who takes time to adjust himself to a given playing condition, but the one thing tendulkar has that none possses is his batting ability, he can be a destructive and explosive yet he can be very technical and solid the very next time and as for lara goes he is not that of a techincal guy, he more of a power hitting guy but without a doubt these two will go down as the greatest of all but Lara will always have a edge considering his adaptibility to any given playing conditions compare to Tendulkar who usually strugggles in Fast,bouncy hand pitches

Brain Charles Lara with out a doubt is Far ahead of any other bats man in morden circket.He has always performed brilliantly under pressure.Two of his innings are rated as the best in wisden.LARA is a class act He does not require a Taylor made wicket or a weak opposition to preform if he could have played for a team like INDIA and not Win dies he could have scored two times more.
A GREAT bats man is no comparison to a dead wicket KING.

Both Lara and Sachin are good batsmen and both can be dangerous on their given days. The difference between the two is that Lara becomes instantly explosive and always is in danger of getting out whereas Sachin, as rightly pointed out can be explosive one moment and solid technical defensive the next moment and he will wear the bowler out, by his defence and offence in batting. Lara can be enterprising whereas Sachin can at times be boring to watch bat.

While I consider Sachin Tendulkar as the best batsman in ODI, I consider Brian Lara as the best batsman in Test Cricket. If you have to pick one among them by taking the average of both Test Cricket and ODI, Sachin Tendulkar will be the best

They are two very different batsmen. When they are playing well they are both exciting. I think for the sheer "excitement-factor" Brian Lara. Unfortunately, during the Windies' tour of Australia a couple of years ago, Lara only "let fly" once or twice.

he not only a batsman, he knows everything in cricket. He is a genius. Even though Lara is a great batsman. I rate sachin ahead of him for his all round abilities in Cricket. His patience, ATTITUDE WITH team mates & other team members made him god of cricket. Even though lara also has same kind of character. I like to vote Sachin altleast one point ahead of LARA.

a competent batsman is the guy who performs ok and in accordance to the situation...he's stable and consistent. on the full, he's an elementary batsman, he won't be able to be faraway from the team in any respect yet super batsmen are in basic terms marvellous. they could bat at anyplace and in subject and make a contribution nicely to the team. he's an excellent asset to the team and would possibly on no account be bumped off. He has a concepts-blowing elementary, and intensely consistent overall performance. as nicely an excellent batsman is the guy who accepts all judgements, be it actual or incorrect and walks away. he doesnt make too plenty fuss, and drama.he's straightforward....and he makes his bat communicate.
