The worst conference in Division I-A is clearly the Sun Belt. It's a conglomeration of schools that for the most part have recently moved up to I-A, and their next football member is going to be Western Kentucky - a member of the Sun Belt in other sports - who decided in November 2006 to move up to I-A.

Unfortuately, Western Kentucky may find the Sun Belt to be less competitive a conference than the Gateway, which with the addition of the Dakotas had six members in the final I-AA top 25.

Yes, it is the Sun Belt. They have shown flashes of potential anyway: last season the Ragin' Cajuns overcame a 21 point deficit at (Kevin Kolb's) Houston U. and Troy beat Rice in the New Orleans Bowl.

yes the sun belt is the worst. can it really be that troy is the best team in that conference? mind boggling!

yeah probably the sun belt, they just don't have any big success stories that can lift the conference to prominence
