Rising gas prices affect every household and every business. Those most affected are those who can least afford it.
The government could - and SHOULD - investigate 'big oil' to see how much price-fixing, price-gouging, and price manipulation is going on; the government could - and SHOULD - force 'big oil' to give back some of those billions of dollars in excess profits in the form of lowering gasoline prices and reducing profit margins. But, as long as there are two 'big oil men' in the White House, that ain't gonna' happen! -RKO- 05/18/07

I try to combine all doctors appointments and such to conserve on gas. Don't go anywhere hardly at all. Most likely will not vacation this year. What can the government do? Good Question, the real question should be does the government what to do anything. I think not.

Why doesn't everyone that buys gas,oil or any petroleum based product boycott it for the long weekend and see how it affects the big oil companies.....you think it will hurt ? Probably not but think of all the pollution that wouldn't be pumping out of your tailpipe for three whole days. Try riding your bike or walking that one block to the corner store. Take the kids for a walk along the river rather then a country ride.....just my two cents worth...

No real effect! Oil prices need to go higher. This will push the MARKET to develop cheaper alternatives. The government can do nothing unless they remove the rediculous tax they now place on gasoline!
