I just studied him, but i dont really know much about his colonies. Louis encouraged colonization for his colonies during his reign. Most prisoners and debtors were forced there. They harvested cheap raw materials and brought them back to france to be made into manufactured goods. Louis wanted France to be self sufficient and become rich based on the belief on mercantilism. Hoped that helped
