My downstairs neighbors have many problems with child support, evictions from previous renters, and government benefits. They fight about it all the time loudly so we can hear them and talk on their cell phones right outside our window about their problems. I am afraid they are going to bring a lot of trouble probably with the police. What should I do about them- tell the landlord, tell the police when they get here because they have their mailing address as our address. (They are close apartments). I have children of my own and don't need any problems. PLEASE HELP!!

If I were in a similar situation I would tell the Landlord and he can come up with a reason for eviction over time. It doesn't have to come back on you. If they get out of hand you will have to call the police. We had neighbors living below us once that we had the police on once...more specifically him. We could hear them yelling downstairs all the time until one day we heard her screaming and loud thudding like he was beating her. So we called them and they came, cased the duplex, watched from outside until they saw him strike her and then they busted him.

She later came and thanked us and that was the last time we ever had to deal with it. Up until then, they were a real nightmare.

I don't think you will find an easy way to deal with them. So I would first approach your landlord. He will want to keep his good tenants and that is you. Those types of people have a way of not paying their rent and bringing other trouble for the landlord. He will want to know about it.

Go ask the police! Don't report it, ask for help on what would be a professional way to solve the problem. It means a trip, but it might be worth it.

best thing to do to stay away from their problems cause they might tell you are really nosy and that might give you problems just tell them to lower their voice in the nicest way possible
