When I click Start-programmes-accesories-entertainment, all I get is the Windows media player...the master controls used to be displayed along with the media player, but has vanished!

How do I get the volume controls back?

It says that windows cannot display the volume controls on the taskbar, because the volume control programme has not been installed!

Go to the control panel, then to sound and see if you have a device driver for your audio. If not find out from the device manager what it is or go to the website of the pc manufacturer and download the drivers for the your audio and that should give you your volume control back in accessories and click on it, then click for it to be in the icon tray. click ok and then you should see a speaker show up in the icon tray on the desk top.

Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, Volume tab.

Ensure 'place volume icon in taskbar' is selected.
