our team has pretty much fallen apart, and the coach says if 10 people don't turn up to practice he will make us do running.

Don't show up for a game and expect to play if you didn't show up for practice. The team doesn't sound much like a team with only 10 showing up for practice.Step up and be a leader, show up,when you look back years from now you can tell your wife and kids I showed up I wasn't going to let anybody down and I won't let you down either.Come on don't back down.

Well you guys should be going to practice because you love to play football. not cuz ur coach is threatening you. and you must, not should, go to every practice possible. So yes you are doing wrong by not going to practice at school. A player who doesn't go to practice, whether it be off-season workouts or in-season practice or preseason, is not making himself a better football player, is not contributing to the team, is lowering the standards for the team itself, and also is implying a message that that player doesn't care. I'm not saying you don't care, it's just that that's what it might seem like to the coach, which is why he's gonna make you guys run. Turning up to practice should be mandatory to all of you guys, whether it's voluntary or not.

um yes because i know when i played on my soccer team at high school when people didnt show up to practice then the coach would start them before people who practiced really hard all week in any weather conditions. Im not trying to be mean but you are letting your team down. its not all about you sorry man!

yes, your teammates are your brothers, you suffer with them, you bleed, with them, and they are there for you when you need it, so you should be with them, you will regret not practicing and sharing the field of battle with your companions
