doesn anyone know of a recreational center to go to for playing basketball and lifting weights things like that?

As far as I know, all cities/towns/counties in the Denver metro area have community rec centers that are free or cheap to its residents.

There is a very nice one at 40th Ave. and Kipling. I think it is the Wheatridge Recreation Center.
