I'm wondering how long they can survive in the fresh water of the Sacramento River? It's been like 3 or 4 days now.

WHY would a whale and a baby go up a river in the first place????

It seems to me that a lost whale survived 26 days a year or two ago before finally being guided back out to the ocean. I'm sure these whales' survival will have to do with the kind of stress they're experiencing, and the way in how they're helped to return to their natural habitat. -RKO- 05/18/07
