Your 2005 return has to be mailed in and will take 6 - 8 weeks for the refund. The e-filing deadline for 2005 was last October.

Although you MIGHT be able to get a refund anticipation loan from Block (or most of the other storefront prep mills) you'll pay exhorbitant fees for the privilege. The APR on those loans can go higher than 2,600%! If you're getting a smallish refund, they could eat up most of it.

Why did you wait so long? You're only screwing yourself.

You waited over a year on the 2005 return, and over a month past the due date on the 2006 return, and now you need the money in a week?

The only way you can get your money that fast is with some kind of short term loan - and you'll pay A LOT in fees and interest if you can get that at all.

I am NOT an H&R Block employee.

For 05 no because you cannot e-file prior year returns. sorry
but the good news is for 06 you may still be able to get a refund anticipation loan which is 1-2 days. I am not 100% sure they are still available and they are subject to approval from HSBC but it is worth a try. Good Luck. If you efile with Direct Deposit it takes 8-15 days.

also, Refund loans are expensive but not out of control, most people i know with roughly 6000.00 coming back paid about 100.00 for the loan and 30 for the account fee
