Not sure if you are looking for a film for auto or home. The type of film you are seeking is a silver 20 type product. It reduces the glare by 80% and you can buy it as a DIY from any major hardware store like Lowes or Depot. 3M most definitely does not make a DIY film. The Gila Brand Film is made by CP Films and is by far the largest DIY product.
For homes and cars ( truth in advertising- I am a Vista and Formula One Dealer!) professional installation of a car film or home is really the best choice for you to make. You can select a dealer from http://www.vista-films.com or for cars http://www.formualone.com - For a different selling network check http://www.llumar.com

I bought mine at Home Depot. Comes in rolls. It is difficult to work with but it really does help. I have a lot of windows and was concerned with the sun fading furniture so I applied it to some windows. I tried to apply it to my sliding door and ruined the product. It's hard to handle large sheets of it. Regular size windows shouldn't be a problem though.

I think that what you are looking for is called -for cars- window tint. You can get that at autozone or any other store like that. They also have a kit to put it on the glass, which should be easy on a flat home window.

A decent glazier should be able to supply/fit this for you. Made by 3m/Scotch, thermal control film.
