no. oil is oil. it all coats and protects, the only difference is synthetic last 2x as long and costs 2x as much. so really, its all the same.

As long as you are using a oil that is recommended by the manufacture of your vehicle it should not be a problem. Reference your owners manual.

When changing over from different brands and oils I normally when change the oil again at and earlier interval.

I would not change from Synthetic to mineral base. I have considered going to the mix blend, I have read allot about them and they seem fairly good not as good or better than synthetic.

The benifits of using Synthetic oil greatky outweigh the cost of the oil. I have rebuilt a number of engines and those using synthetic have far less wear then those using mineral, especaily when there is an heat issue.

But it should not hurt.

Unless your engine is specifically designed for synthetic oil, or drive under extreme harsh conditions (Paris-Dakar, Le-Mans, etc. )all you will feel is a relief in your pocket.

Synthetic oil is more resistant to degradation over extreme temperatures. however, changing your non-synthetic oil between 3 and 5K miles will be enough to avoid degradation and you will also get rid of any contaminant in the oil while at it.

Not really. The main purpose of synthetic oil is the added chemical agent teflon, which coats the engine, giving it added protection which helps keep the oil cleaner, therefore, it's ability to last longer.

Depends on the car. If regular oil is recommended for the car and you are running synthetic, no it won't hurt it. If it's recommended to have synthetic, you could do damage to the engine.

Only the oil GIANTS!
Brazil has been on it for half a decade now!
And well.... 80% of their auto fuels are syn oils!

Too bad... that the North Americans are more worried about profits than the environment...????
Soon enough, economically Bio Fuels will be more economical than the crude. Hence... we should look fwd to less price fluctuations, less pollution and well... maybe less wars?

i was told to use regular oil all the time, especially in an older engine. things that are old don't like change. if it's not broke don't fix it. just don't use penzoil! make sure you keep up on your oil changes and you should be alright.

you must go with what the car requires. If it calls for synthetic then use it and vise versa or you could hurt your engine.

Depends on the composite of the gaskets.

Synthetic, or petroleum based.

Use which ever is recommended by the manufacturer.

it won't hurt per say but it won't give the same performance that the syntec does. so no it won't hurt it but your engine may not run as good.
