"Know thyself." Self awareness is being "wholly" conscious of one's "learned" ego belief system, which controls feeling, thought and experience. Since reality mirrors mind - including everything at the unconscious level as well - full self awareness is power over the experiences of reality.

Awareness is synonamous with consciousness.

Consciousness, incomprehensible to science, is a symptom of the soul.

There are degrees of awareness, as said by the Vedic scriptures, according tot he degree of covered-ness of the soul. Trees for example, are only dimly aware, whereas the human form affords the fullest potential of awareness... In between there are various bodies that allow limited expression of awareness. The soul transmigrates according to desire and actions....

Yoga and meditation, when properly performed, because they are based in a system of knowledge that acknowledges the existence of the soul, facilitate the uncovering of the soul by matter. Increased awareness follows.

To me awareness is when you live your life as a conscious choice, and realize the consequences of your actions.

Most people react to life without thinking, they do what they have been told by parents, teachers, friends is acceptable. They are on "automatic pilot"; many times they are surprised by the consequences of their actions, draw no lessons from those consequences and are therefore doomed to repeat them.

The fully aware person lives their life by making decisions based on their own principles about how to react to any given situation. When those decisions produce negative consequences they re-examine that decision and change it next time, or accept the consequences as the price of making a decision based on their principles.

I am not fully aware yet, but I am trying to be.

It is an impossibility to be aware. We can be aware of many things, for example, when we walk into a room. We are equally unaware of so many things in the exact same situation.

Awareness in philosophy generally refers to awareness of the self. This, however, is to be embarrassed.

To be aware is to be conscious. To be self-conscious is to be embarrassed. Philosophy has taught us all how to experience embarrassment.

As the body and the brain exchange data a program is generated. That program is what we call awareness. When a cognitive brain runs this program, we say the creature has a soul.

Here is a great example of someone who does NOT have awareness.

A old lady in Miami was putting her granddaughter in the car seat in the back of her car. Two men driving by, got out of their car, ran up, put a gun to the baby's head, took the lady's purse, got back in their car, and drove off with the purse.

If she was AWARE of her surroundings, they would NOT have even got out of their car and approached her.
