I have a 2003 Volvo S40.I started heating a ticking noise when my air conditioning was on. I turned off the AC to make sure that that was the source of the noise, and sure enough, it is. The ticking noise becomes faster as the fan speed increases. Is it the fan itself? Is it the motor? Any ideas on reapir costs?

Nothing is visibly getting in the way of the fan blades rotating.

SINCE MOST A/C SYSTEMS RECIRCULATION IS ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE I WOULD CHECK FOR ANY POSSIBLE TRASH, DIRT OR ANYTHING THAT MIGHT HAVE GOTTEN SUCKED UP IN OR NEAR THE BLOWER ASSEMBLY.

"THIS IS VERY COMMON ON A LOT OF VEHICLES"

If it's making a ticking noise: 1) wiring could be messesd up
2) something broken inside that is condisistantly hitting part of fan making noise 3) something throughout a/c system could be tweaked!
