Hopefully making other's happy makes you happy. That's what I do, but it doesn't work out so well for me overall.

Maybe it really is all about making yourself happy first.

Being happy is the most important thing, and everyone has the right to be happy. What's the point of making other people happy if all it does is make you miserable? Yes, helping others is good, and gives you warm fuzzies inside, but if you're doing it for those reasons, then you're making people happy to make you happy, which is pretty selfish if you consider it. You should only help others if it you want to, not because you feel obligated or forced to.

Personally i get the biggest high by making other people happy. Happiness is a beautiful thing and i hate seeing someone who is miserable. But i think the answer is obvious. Your number one priority should be the well-being of yourself up to a certian point. I say up to a certain point because you cant allow yourself to be miserable at the expense of making other people happy, but reach a level of happiness which you can put the effort into making others happy without it draining your own happiness. Anyways if your not happy it'll probably be noticable by others which in turn will make difficult for them to be happy when you try to make them happy.

Making other people happy creates resentment. People give and when then don't receive, they become bitter at what they have given with some unspoken rulebook that the same would be reciprocated.

You are responsible for your own happiness in my opinion. Don't take place any bets that I would do something to make you happy -- I don't have that power -- you do.
