my wife came home today and her car broke down so she stopped at a mechanic nad he told her it was the left idle switch. what should i do?

Fast idle switch on the carburetor for air conditioner maybe.
But there's no such thing as a left idle switch as far as I know.

I've never heard of a ''left" or "right" idle switch. I would get it checked by someone else b/c it sounds like the mechanics jipping you!
