why are they called butterflies? as there is no butter in them

I heard they were originally called Flutterbyes, then someone changed the fl and the B. flutterbyes makes more sense as a name...

I've always thought to myself someone originally called them flutterbys but then someone else got it backwards and it stuck.

maybe because they are just so beautiful

beautiful + flutterbys = butterflies
