beyond the fact that you should be wearing it everytime you are riding your bike (even down the block)
the rear seat on the R6 has hooks on the inside. When you lfit the rear seat up, look on the bottom of it, and you will see these white "L" shaped hooks. Thats where your d-ring for your helmet goes.
but really, it belongs on your head.

Faster and easier to go to the local shop. A Yamaha dealer would have it in stock. You get what you want right away, with no hassles or shipping charges.

"FranksGirl" is smart.
Don't Ever secure your helmet to the helmet hook on your bike while riding.
It will bounce around, get scratched and scratch your bike.
It will interfere with your riding.
It could get sucked into the wheel well.
Secure it to the rear seat with a cargo net.

If you take your seat off there should be hooks on each side that you hook your chin strap's D-ring onto, then put the seat back on. It's how you can lock up your helmet when you get to your destination. The hooks might be on the seat itself, or on the bike under the seat.
