I'm not a professional, but the way that I clean my jacket is to place it in the bathtub let water run into it for a while enough so that the jacket floats. Add some laundry detergent and than wash it with your hands. After that, you just let it float for a while. It gets all the dirt and whatnot out of the jacket pretty quickly.

Since it has washing instuctions on the tag, then I would follow the manufacturers suggestions.
