A friend came by to visit one night. He parked his bike in front of 1 of my 3 garage doors. He sleeps in because 2nd shift. I went to leave.... and didn't want to hit his motorcycle. I moved it... rather dropped it! It is scuffed... the windshield. Scuffed the item similar to front quarter panel.... Most likely can be buffed.... I feel I am 80% at fault. He really doesn't want to take my cash... How can I repay him.

I would have woke his *** up and told him to move it. but now you have damaged it. so I am sure he can think of a way for you to repay for the damage. If it is just scuffed its no big deal but you can work out. your adults right?

1. Home-cooked meal. Two of them. Nice meals.
2. Check Ebay for a windshield replacement. Show him what you found, and offer to buy that for him.
3. Let him handle the fairing. There are sites on the internet that have instructions for dealing with scratch damage on the plastic.
4. Check Ebay for something called "frame sliders" for his motorcycle. Show him the listing. He may not want them. They remind me too much of training wheels.
5. Never try to move someone else's motorcycle again...

Best gift - don't hurt his bike again. Seriously. He doesn't want you to do anything else about it. To some it seems like adding insult to injury. If you feel you must to ease your conscience, get him something later for no apparent reason. Keep it small.

Don't feel 80% at fault. It's the same thing as if someone else moved your car, and damaged it. It's all or nothing, and you can't get nothing on this one.

Wait until he gets it fixed. In casual conversation, ask him how much damage. Then go get a VISA gift card for the same amount. Maybe a little extra because you care...

we don't need to go into how to repay him. Tell him you are sorry and let him know where he can park next time he comes over so as not to be in your way. You might also want to learn to handle a motorcycle so you don't drop his bike again.

Just be good to him. Take him out, make him dinner, be a good friend, and let him know how bad you feel. He shouldn't have parked it there but you shouldn't have tried to move it. If the damage is minimal though, it's not a big deal.

I would be super pissed, but I wouldn't have made you pay me back either.

Let it go if he wanted you to pay for it he would've asked for the money straight up. Just a tip, in future wake him up & ask him to move his ride, DON'T EVER touch his ride without his permission!
(My hubby has ridden a long time and although there has been several times when I could've moved his ride, I went & got him to do it, because if anything hapened to his 1st love......Life would become unbearable for me!)

Polish his kickstand and let him play with your headlights.
