I have heard some stories of peolple who claim to be LDS / Mormon who are also "Swingers". How can they justify these two things which are in conflict with each other. I pose the same question to anyone who is a "Swinger" and a Christian.

By the way... I am LDS and I'm not a Polygamist and my Church does not teach that sex outside of marriage is okay. Just to set the record straight.

The same way hypocritical pastors and priests of christian based religions engage in sexual practices that are both unacceptable by their denomination and illegal. Pedophilia, and inappropriate sexual activity involving both females as well as males is alive, well, ignored, denied and rationalized by members of congregations these religious leaders represent.

I grew up in the LDS church and I therefore know for certain that the Mormon church is an "all or nothing" religion. You can't just pick and choose the parts that work for you. A Mormon swinger would be a hypocrite. Swinging would also be grounds for excommunication in the church.

By-the-way, I am no longer a practicing member of the LDS church. I believe that the most important thing you can do with your life is to be truthful to yourself and those whose lives you affect. Whatever truth that is.

if you follow the teachings of the Bible you cannot be a swinger. at least, as I understand the swinging lifestyle, which involves marriage. the Bible doesn't have quite as much to say about sex as some highly imaginative people sometimes suppose. but it's pretty clear about some things, and having sex with other people when you are married is definitely out. I don't know what they teach in the LDS, what they think they can pick and choose from the teachings of the Bible, but I know these people don't read the Bible or don't believe what they read in it if they think they can be both together.

Unchastity - sex with someone other than the person you are married to - is a sin second only to murder, with excommunication as the standard punishment. So it is not possible to be a Mormon and a swinger.

Considering the fact that is the religious people that are most judgemental and at the same time, the most hypocritical, then that would make sense!

Christians love to tell everyone how to live and what to do in their lives, but they don't practice what they preach once they leave their churches!

I know that being a "swinger" is not in keeping with the Bible! The JW Hall or Mormon church is a whole other ballgame. Reporting indiscretions and problems that others have to leaders will be met with an attack against you or a deaf ear.

It is inappropriate and against the Law of Chastity to practice Swinging. A member of the LDS Church who has covenanted to keep this law would be acting sinfully to "Swing".

I suppose the answer to your question is just in human nature. Ted Haggard railed against homosexuality, but wasn't above engaging in it. Joseph Smith bedded several teenagers under the guise of 'celestial marriage', and this still doesn't bother the mormons.

FYI: There's a "Jensen Swinger Club" right outside Vernal Utah, and a Nude Latter Day Saint Sun club (somewhere). There are all sorts of dens of iniquity hosted by mormons. They just claim they don't.

This would be a secret society within the mormon church just as satantic worshipper hide within the church, just as men being sealed to men is a secret in the church. This is the ultimate swinging, they either were gay or they were freemason brothers trying to save each other, or they wanted to men with all their wives on a star called Kolob to share each others wives and kingdoms.

That would not suprise me. The LDS church is cultish and well known for being hypocrites.
