My grandmother informed me that she will be leaving some land to me in her will. I will be going up to the property in a few weeks to see the land and meet the majority owner.
What questions should I ask? What research should I do beforehand?

You have no rights in the property unless & until your grandma deeds it to you or dies & leaves it to you.

Majority owner ? Are you going to be sharing ownership with someone else here (more than one name on the deed/title) ?
Or are you simply going to meet the person who owns a bunch of land in the area ?
You are quite premature in doing any research at this time, unless Grandma is about to take her last breath. Given your situation, I'd merely peruse the land being bequeathed to you, introduce yourself as the grandson of the current owner, and let it at that for now.

For now, just talk to Grandma some more about it. She should be a wealth of information for you. Since she is the current owner. Don't go getting 2nd hand information. Stick with the source. Make sure that you will be getting the title, & if not you, who? You'll need to know who you need to talk to when the time unfortunately comes.
