I think he has put another nail in his coffin. He will never see the white house unless he is an invited guest.

Yes, and I've thought so for years. I respect the man immensely for serving our country and surviving as a POW, but I don't believe he has the stability or strength of convictions to be our president.
As for the amnesty thing, aside from McCain's affinity to attract the fawning liberal media, I think it's an attempt to buy votes (and voters). Politcians on both sides seem to believe that Americans will support this nonsense... Wonder where they got that idea?
And this new immigration bull, I mean bill, is a bone of contention I have with Bush--I still support him on most issues even though he's gone too far to center because he's still a LOAD more conservative than anyone on the other side of the fence (and pardon the pun, we need a bigger fence! LOL). He may not be as conservative as I'd like, but he's still better than the alternative until '08 when we can hopefully elect someone who can fight illegals, win the war in Iraq, and be more fiscally responsible.

Well, I would hardly call McCain a liberal, but I have lost all respect for him because of his obviously opportunistic changes of position. I have no problem with any politician changing his mind about an issue; that is the mark of a truly rational, mature mind. But McCain's changes smack of his seemingly desperate desire to be President, rather than because of reasoned contemplation.
As for McCain being a liberal in Republican clothing because of an amnesty plan for illegal immigrants, I guess you would have to include Bush in that assessment, too. Bush himself has proposed just such and amnesty (see link below), and I don't think anybody would mistake him for a liberal.

Um, very few human beings wondered his citizenship, very few...you probably did no longer have a million/2 of Democrats doubting it the way republicans did for Obama. The proclamation affirming his skill to run become handed by using a Democratic controlled Senate. i did no longer hear a single candidate interior the 2008 well-known deliver this difficulty up. There weren't total web content dedicated to the subject. no person tried to deliver federal courtroom circumstances against him. no person in congress ever introduced this up or doubted it. No blue states tried to bypass birther rules. So, your argument is not often equivalent. additionally, the rationalization John McCain become eligible had no longer something to due with him being born exterior of a protection stress base or the canal zone that's real (because of the fact he become born in a well-being middle below the jurisdiction of the government of Panama)--it become because of the fact he become born to U.S. voters: you would be a organic born citizen of the U. S. and born exterior the country as long a considered one of your mothers and fathers is a U.S. citizen--that is honestly the regulation (maximum persons are too ignorant to realize the finished volume of the regulation.) Oh, and that short-kind Obama released interior the commencing up is seen a valid start certificates, so sure, his transparency become only fantastic. weren't we meant to understand Bush because of the fact he become a "wartime" president? isn't there nevertheless wars going on in this administration too?

John McCain cannot be counted on to represent the people who elect him. I'm sorry to say that because I deeply respect his war record but it is really time for him to fade into the background. Another long time rep who has lost touch with the people he represents. He represents only himself in this matter.
