I understand the question, you are trying to ask " Who is the best QB who got traded or signed to a differen't team and did amazing" I'd say Drew Brees. Coming off a season ending injury, getting cut by the Cargers and signed with one of the worst teams that season, the Saints. He took a team that had a record of 3-13 and turned it into 10-6 division champs and made it to the playoffs. He did better that season than the one before. His QB rating in 2005 with the Chargers was 89.2, with the Saints in 2006 it was 96.2.And he made it to the Pro Bowl.

I would think you would want someone who is durable and can take a beatin' because with an expansion team your QB is probably going to get beat up pretty good. I guess a guy who can move outside the pocket and still make things happen would be a plus. Someone who can take a little failure and not give up or cry. Does this sound like anybody?
Vince Young might not be a bad choice of the guys that currently in the NFL. I'm really kind of drawing a blank. I think if you put Brady or Manning on a crap team you probably wouldn't be too impressed with what they get done.

I'm pretty sure that the Texans already proved this, it's not the qb you start the team with its the offensive line. I'd pick a great offensive line for my knee team over a great qb any day. Peyton Manning would be a pretty bad qb without time to throw the ball.

if I understand the question, which I don't think I do, the answer is either Steve Young, he was with Tampa Bay, and got a trade to San Fran, after a couple years took over for Montana, before Montana wanted to give it up, but still in his prim.
Or Brett Farve, who was the 3rd string QB for Atlanta, got traded to Green Bay and started within the year.

Montana was about wash up, or at least not in his prime when he went to KC and everybody eles name have only been with one team.
