My finacee and I are trying to get pregnant, what are some things I should be doing now to help me get pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy, such as vitamins, reproductive health, resting, water intake, things like that. Also is it true to start using the ovulation kits the day after your period, also is there anything to do to make my mucas/discharge thinner. How far into the vagina does my fiancee have to be to get his sperm in real good? What are some remides that I can do at home to help me get pregnant?

okay - drop any bad habits, follow pregnancy guidelines, buy what to expect when you're expecting, and stay happy. I have had two friends try for a year before getting pregnant. I kept telling them they were getting too stressed out about it. Ironically both received new pets (one a kitten, the other a puppy) for Christmas 2005. I guess this added member of the household took enough attention off the fact that they trying because they both ended up pregnant by Valentine's Day 2006! Now I realize this isn't at all scientific but it just shows what a positive attitude can do to your hormones during this time. Good Luck!!!

You should start taking a prenatal vitamin for the folic acid every day. You can also cut down on caffeine and he can increase his to give the little swimmers a "boost" and eat healthy. Try not to drink or smoke (everyone will probably tell you this) and continue as normal. Don't begin any new physical conditioning because it can throw your body out of whack. Water intake can be 8-10 glasses a day like they suggest during pregnancy. As for the ovulation kit - read the directions since they are all a little different. It will partly depend on how long your cycle is. If it's 28 days I would suggest starting on day 7 of your cycle depending on how many tests are in the box. Honestly, the manuf. instructions are the way to go.

You could try using a product called Preseed as a lubricant that is supposed to help make you a more sperm friendly environment for conception. As for where your husband ejaculates and how often you have sex will depend on if you're trying for a particular sex. Shallower penetration up until about 2 days before possible ovulation could favor a girl and deeper up to and thorough ovulation could favor a boy according to the Shettles method. Orgasm can help get the sperm closer to/in your cervix which will help too. After having sex, keep your hips elevated for about 30 minutes to help the little swimmers along.

As for home remedies, nothing really. I have heard that Robitussin around ovulation time will help with cervical mucus but honestly, charting your temps and cervical mucus on a site like FertilityFriend.com to figure out when you ovulate is the best, cheapest thing you can do. Everything you need to know is pretty much on the site. Best of luck and don't fret - it can take the average couple at least 6 monthe to conceive. Have fun "trying!"

Well first of all a great start is to be healthy overall, eat healthy, drink 8-10 glasses of water daily. You can also start taking pre-natal vitamins to full fill anything you may be lacking.

Sperm doesn't always have to be way deep inside, when your egg drops it can stay there waiting for up to 3 days for those little ones to penetrate it. You ovulate 7-10 days from the first day of your period so in that time go at it like rabbits.
Not sure why you would want your mucas/discharge thinner?

Start taking prenatal vitamins now. Establish a good exercise routine before you get pregnant and then maintain it when you get pregnant. Don't smoke or drink alcohol, and limit your caffeine intake.

You start taking ovulation predictor tests according to how long your cycle is. If it's 28 days start taking them on day 10, if it's 32 days, start taking them day 14. The tests let you know when your body has an LH surge, which occurs 24-48 hours before ovulation. Take a test everyday until you get a positive result. These tests are just like pregnancy tests in how you take them, except dont take them first thing in the morning. With these you are supposed to wait until the afternoon.

The best position for conceiving is the missionary position because the semen is shot way up there. You can lay down for 30 minutes afterwards, however I went immediately to the bathroom, and still got pregnant.

I'm guessing that before you decided to conceive a baby you were on the pills? Or some other kind of hormonal protection? If you only used a condom my answer doesn't apply to you, sorry :) But if you did use the pills, then don't worry. I got the same thing you did the first pill free month. The true answer is that there is no true answer. Your period may just be a few days late, or you might not get it until next month. If you go over a 100 days without your period, though, you need to consult a doctor and get medicine to get your period back. (I'd go if I went over 50 days, but that's up to you) This is because your body used to get a dose of hormones each day (your pills), and now it has to work on its own. It may take some time for the body to catch up. Don't worry about it for a month more or so. Very many people experience this, and it is very normal. Some people get pregnant the first month off the pills, while for others, it takes up to a year. And both are equally normal. If, however, you go over a year without conceiving, it might be a good idea to consult your doctor and get checked, and make your partner deliver a sample of his sperm, to check quality and quantity. It is sad, but you are most likely not pregnant. The test does not lie. Good luck to you after your coming period!

You should start taking prenatal vitamins now. You should do the ovulation kits the day after your period ends, so you have a baseline. I've heard that if you take some Robitussin every day it could thin your mucus, but I don't know if that really works or not. I've also heard that the best thing to do is have sex every other day after your period ends - that way you have the best chance of hitting it when you're ovulating, and the guy has a chance to build back up his supply of swimmers... good luck!

track your periods , when they start how long they last and when they end. this will be crucial for determining the babies due date. eat healthy. and yes you can begin taking prenatals. they made me sick so the dotor suggested i take 2 of the flindstones kids chewablew vitamins a day. so thats what i have been taking. obviously no smoking and drinking. honestly your body will let you know when you have drank enough water and juices a day, your urine will be pretty much clear, and not cloudy or as yellow. just make shure you get enough fluids. as long as your fiancee ejaculates in you the sperm will do their duty. just dont get upset if it takes awhile. some couples it takes a few days, and others it takes a few months. in case that you do get pregnant. do not do any strenous activities, jogging running ect. no more hot baths. just showers. i have also heard that if you orgasm after he ejaculates then your muscles contracting will drive the sperm up in to you more. some women actually put their feet up in the air after the duty to "help" the sperm find their way. this is way unnnecisary. just dont rush it. it will come when it is suppost to happen. and dont just hink of sex for only means to get pregnant. this is where some couples fall apart becasue the women then only want to have sex for that reason and it loses the loveing connections and what not. just enjoy it and dont "rush " it. maybe you should talk to your gyno. they can give you give advice.

Tkae pre-natal pills now!!! Also Don't eat Tuna more than once a week (less if you can live without it) Talk to your doctor and get a list of things that are bad to eat and start following it now (habbits are everything and will help when you start craving things you shouldn't eat anyway) And don't forget to get the excersise you need!
