We were on the way to the nursing home my grandma was in (a different town). Just before we got there he gave me this box and I opened it to find a beautiful diamond ring inside. I looked at it and waited for him to say something but he didn't. Well, after a while, I said, "What's this for?" He said, 'You know'. I laughed and asked if he was going to ask me something. He said, "We've both been married before and if you don't know what that's for, we're in trouble." I laughed again and said, "A lady still likes to hear it." When we pulled into the parking lot of the nursing home he got out of the car and came around to open the door for me and when I got out he pulled me into his arms and said, "I love you more than I thought I could ever love anyone in my life. Would you please put that ring on and agree to marry me so we can go in and tell your grandma? And, I have to go (to the bathroom) bad!"

We've been married almost 11 years now. Sadly, the ring was lost when our house burned down because I had taken it off because my fingers were swollen!

The actual question went like this:

"Do you want to get married or not?!" (he was standing across the bedroom...we were both dressed, just in there talking! I had said he needed to propose the 'right' way, and that's when he said it like that!

A couple months after we got married, he was able to buy my actual wedding rings and then he opened the box and said "will you marry me?" (he was standing) I was surprised, and I wouldn't change a single thing about us!

My then boyfriend just came back from working offshore and he took me to the French Quarter. While taking a ride in the horse and buggy he asked me to marry him. I told him later that thats how i always wanted to be purposed to and i never told anybody that ,so he did real good by picking that moment to ask me.. Hes such a good man.

Hubby asked me in the car while driving home from the lake. I didn't answer. Then to make it better he asked me again while kneeling in front of me on the front porch. I said yes of course. Want even more romance? We got married in front of a judge...how's that for a happy ending? ;)
